Senior Manager, Operations Finance (SAF) 

Reports to Senior Director, Operations Finance Lead (SAF) 

 

A successful Senior Manager, Operations Finance - South Africa is one who will support financial operations of the South Africa Franchise Finance team in support of a financial strategy to drive growth and profitability. This role operates on a team of six (6) finance associates and reports to the South Africa Franchise Head of Finance. 

 

Focus, Scope, & Impact: 

  • Partner with stakeholders across the Franchise and System (RGM, Marketing, Technical, Operations, Strategy, etc.) to develop insights to inform and execute strategic priorities. Responsibilities include: 

  • Decision support for: investments, business model development, pricing strategies, new product launches and System financial health. 

  • Business case development in partnership with System and Franchise stakeholders 

  • Integration of complex financial, execution, and consumer data to deliver comprehensive business insights and recommendations for actions to improve business performance 

  • Support comprehensive routines to review business performance and System financial outcomes 

  • Support after-action reviews of all investment activity 

  • Support end-to-end financial planning processes from forecasting to actuals reporting and rolling estimates, all from SKU-level through to aggregate P&L, ensuring adherence to global and local financial reporting timelines 

  • Monitor business performance and trends to anticipate P&L Risks and Opportunities and proactively generate business insights and recommendations to achieve business targets  

  • Monitor market dynamics across channel and category to determine implications to business strategy and financial outcomes 

Team Priorities:  

  • Promote a culture of trust, transparency, and collaboration 

  • Continually strengthen team capabilities with strong focus on development of processes, systems, and tools 

Knowledge & Experience  

  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning or commercial finance roles 

  • Desire and ability to work in a diverse cultural environment as a highly efficient communicator and influencer at all levels 

Functional skills 

  • Horizon Scanning - Continuously monitors business and macro environments (including consumer preferences, competitive landscape, and financial markets) for impact to strategy. 

  • Descriptive & Predictive Analytics - Utilize data science tools and infrastructure to derive meaningful, actionable insights that inform decision-making processes. 

  • Data-Driven Storytelling - A creative way of consolidating data, analyzing for insight, and translating into a clear and compelling story. 

  • Disciplined Decision Support - Identifies actionable business insights and facilitates alignment of decision-makers to ensure prioritization of the most critical projects.
