Job Summary

The Supervisor of the Mix Team - Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing all mix room operations to ensure product quality, safety, compliance, and efficiency. This role provides direct supervision of mixing activities, water and chemical systems, syrup handling, and gas systems (CO₂ and Nitrogen), while coordinating closely with Production, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Supply Chain. The Supervisor ensures adherence to quality standards, accurate material reconciliation, proper equipment calibration, and effective vendor relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Mix Room & QA Oversight
  • Provide daily supervision and operational oversight of the Mix Room to ensure all syrups and blends meet established QA, safety, and product specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor syrup yield performance and investigates variances to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Conduct syrup reconciliation to confirm accurate usage, inventory, and reporting.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduling meetings to align mix production with manufacturing needs.
  • Communicate production priorities, material availability, and potential risks to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Production, QA, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to support plant objectives.
  • Water Room Maintenance & Contracts
  • Oversee water room operations, including filtration, treatment systems, and sanitation.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and ensure consistent water quality standards are met.
  • Oversee service contracts, vendors, and inspections related to water systems.
  • Manage chemical suppliers, contracts, and inventory levels.
  • Equipment & Calibration
  • Ensure routine calibration and verification of all mix room, CO₂ monitoring system and processing equipment.
  • Maintain calibration schedules, documentation, and corrective actions for out-of-tolerance equipment.
  • Partner with Maintenance to address equipment issues promptly.
  • Raw Material Management
  • Oversee CO₂ and Nitrogen supply systems for proper operation, safety, and quality compliance.
  • Coordinate purchase orders, receipts, deliveries, usage tracking, and vendor relationships related to gas systems.
  • Manage concentrate and HFCS ordering, inventory levels, and supplier coordination.
  • Provide oversight of HFCS systems and usage to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor raw material quality and address discrepancies or quality concerns.
  • Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Train, mentor, and supervise mixing team personnel to ensure competency and adherence to QA standards.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support audits, inspections, and internal quality investigations as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience in QA, food and beverage manufacturing, or related production environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mixing operations, syrup systems, water treatment, and quality standards.
  • Experience with equipment calibration, inventory reconciliation, and yield analysis.
  • Familiarity with HFCS systems, concentrates, and gas management (CO₂/Nitrogen).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage vendors, contracts, and cross-functional relationships.
  • Proficiency with documentation, reporting, and basic computer systems.

Pay: $67,618-$79,550
