Ingeus are committed
to providing equal opportunities to all current and prospective employees
regardless of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and
maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage
and civil partnership. We aspire to have a diverse workforce because, in our
view, diversity enables better business outcomes. We also believe that a more
inclusive workplace, where people of different backgrounds work together, ensures
better outcomes for all our staff and participants.
The LGBTQIA+ group is
a sub-group of our Diversity& Inclusion (D&I) Group. They meet
separately to the main D&I group to allow them to focus specifically on
LGBTQIA+ goals that we want to achieve as a business.
In
2022 this group shared personal stories of understanding their own sexuality
and identity, of coming out to others (including why they did or didn’t), and how
being LGBTQIA+ has affected their work relationships and their ability to be authentic
in the workplace. This was selected as a priority for 2022, as the group wanted
to help colleagues across Ingeus to better understand the range of experiences
their LGBTQIA+ colleagues may have had, why some people may be really open
about their sexuality and gender identity, and why others might not feel
comfortable sharing that part of themselves in work.
We’ll share one
of these stories as our next article.
