1. Be gracious
If someone goes out of their way to help you, maybe by inviting you to a networking event or putting your up for a job, take a moment to write them an email (or even a handwritten note) just to say thanks. A little gratitude goes a long way, something as small as a thank you will help to keep you memorable.
2. Bad times will pass, and so will good ones
If you’re in a funk, stuck in a terrible job or with a bad boss, just remember that this is only temporary, have patience and don’t wallow. Your twenties are meant to be turbulent, and it’s important to embrace the good times with the bad times, as both are fleeting.
3. Don’t burn bridges
As tempting as it might be, never dismiss a past professional relationship; you never know who you might need help from in the future or who might turn up at your next job. Try cultivating your past work relationships and invest a little time in your colleagues.
4. Stay positive
Every night think of three positive things from the day, this will help to keep you gracious and force you to be introspective.
5. Fake it ‘til you make it
As clichéd as it is, the old saying is true. Radiate confidence, and it will spur others to have confidence in you. You only have one body, so be comfortable in it!
