Most LGBT+ people are bisexual, or queer, according to new study

A new study conducted by Whitman Insight Strategies and BuzzFeed News has found that most LGBT+ identifying people in the US are either bisexual or queer. 51 percent of respondents did not categorise themselves as simply either gay or lesbian. While 32 percent identify as gay and 16 percent identify as lesbian.

The study also found a third of bi people in the US are non-white – compared to non-white gays and bisexuals who only make up a quarter of their respective categories.

46 percent of bisexuals or queer identifying respondents were between the ages of 18 and 29.

This study comes barely a month after another study found the number of LGBT+ Americans had increased for the sixth year in a row.
