Richard E. Grants Wants LGBT+ Roles To Be Given To LGBT+ Actors

Richard E. Grants believes that LGBT+ roles should be played by LGBT+ actors. As the debate is growing, the Oscar-nominated actor clearly expressed his disagreement with actors inhabiting roles of gay, black or disabled characters without themselves belonging to these groups.

According to the ‘Telegraph’, the actor said: "The transgender movement and the #MeToo movement means how can you justify heterosexual actors playing gay characters?"

“We are in a historic moment,” he added. “If you want someone to play a disabled role, that should be a disabled actor.”

After playing a villain general in Star Wars: The rise Of Skywalker, Grants is now set to play a drag queen in his new project ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.”

“I've always had that concern” he said regarding taking parts from gay actors.
