The LGBT Community celebrate diversity of sexuality and gender identity-based cultures, and in its simplest form refers to anyone who does not identify as heterosexual and/or cisgender. The Black LGBT Pride movement in spite of this began as a result of Black minorities in the LGBT community feeling marginalised and less-than from both minority communities. So, how far does socio-cultural differences prevent full participation in the LGBT movement? And how accepting are ethnic minority groups of the LGBT community?

Come As You Are and let’s discuss!

Following two successful events of the Come As You Are discussion series, the ACG are excited to announce a collaboration with the ACG LGBT Community. We aim to have an open-forum, harnessing elements of the media, society and the workplace to discuss the challenges and stigmas attached to the intersectional experience of being both an ethnic minority and part of the LGBT community. Be expectant, as we will be screening a segment of the Academy Award-Winning Film Moonlight, and also have a special guest host joinins us; British-Nigerian filmmaker Joseph A. Adesunloye.
