CAMP PRESENTS: LGBTQ+ PROGRAMMING OPEN HOUSE - REGISTER

Thursday, December 12th at the Field Museum

5:30-6:30 pm CAMPout (affinity group for those who are LGBTQ+ and questioning)

6:30-8:00 pm CAMP

Come mix and mingle with representatives from Chicagoland's various institutions to learn how they planned, organized, and hosted programming, activities, and exhibits about LGBTQ+ topics and/or with LGBTQ+ individuals. Organizations include Lurie Children's Hospital Sex and Gender Development Clinic, Gender Cool, Center on Halsted, and the Kiki Queens.

WHAT IS CAMP?

Founded on May 31st, 2017, the Chicagoland Alliance of Museums with Pride is an alliance of friendly museum staff focused on actively engaging the LGBTQ+ community.

We Believe: Chicagoland’s museums are enriched when staff and visitors of all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and family configurations are intentionally welcomed and included.

Our Mission: Is to inspire, inform and equip Chicagoland’s museum professionals to make their museum environments more welcoming and inclusive for LGBTQ+ staff and visitors.

We Seek: To support the mission and activities of CAMPout

Who can be part of CAMP? Anyone interested in our mission; there are no fees or memberships.

WHAT IS CAMPout?

CAMPout is for self-identified LGBTQ+ and questioning museum professionals.

The mission of CAMPout is to provide an anonymous, intersectional safe space for LGBTQ+ and questioning museum professionals where they can find community by sharing experiences, supporting professional development, and engaging the museum community.

Privacy Policy: Members of CAMPout will be anonymous by default unless taking on a public-facing position for the group. Information that will not be shared publicly include names, images, contact information, and gender/sexual identity.
