Pride at Macquarie is pleased to announce that City for LGBT+ is back – and this time, it’s virtual!
Time: 5.30-7.15 pm (UK time)
Date: 14 October 2020
Location: Online
GiveOut and LGBT Consortium are once again joining forces with The Funding Network for a second edition of City for LGBT+, the UK’s only live crowdfunding event in support of LGBT+ causes.
Last year, the inaugural event, held at Macquarie, raised over £25,000 for four inspiring LGBT+ charities.
This year’s event is being sponsored by Macquarie’s Pride networks in both the EMEA and ANZ regions.
The event will begin with Lord Michael Cashman, actor, activist, MEP, co-founder of Stonewall and member of the House of Lords, in conversation with Baroness Liz Barker, and reading from his new book, One of Them: From Albert Square to Parliament Square.
Four (different) LGBT+ charities, BlackOut UK, Opening Doors London, UHAI Eashri and L'Union Féministe Libre, will each then have five minutes to tell us about their vital work fighting discrimination and injustice, plus five minutes each for questions, after which we will launch into an exciting live crowdfunding session where you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference directly to the lives of LGBT+ individuals and communities in the UK and around the world.
Attendance is free (and very strongly encouraged!)and, while there is no obligation to make a donation, we hope you’ll feel inspired to do so.
To sign up to attend, please use the ‘Register Now’. Access details for the webinar will then be sent to you prior to the event.
