Partnership event hosted in Manchester, jointly by Institute of Classical Studies and Manchester Metropolitan University

This workshop brings together academics of all career stages who are working on classical subjects (broadly defined), in order to share strategies for successful public engagement, and to explore the mutual benefits which engagement can bring both to researchers and the various publics with whom their research is shared.

- Kirstine Szifris (Manchester Met) – Teaching classical philosophy in prisons

- Stephe Harrop (Liverpool Hope) – Storytelling and drama for communicating academic research

- Chris Mowat (Sheffield) – The LGBT+ History Project

- Kat Mawford (Manchester) and Matt Ingham (Manchester/Manchester Met) – ‘Athena’s Owls’: public library classics for children

- Sally Waite (Newcastle) – Ancient pottery and a community curriculum

- Matthew Fitzjohn (Liverpool) – Lego as a teaching tool for Greek history in schools
