These sessions will explore issues important to the LGBTQ+ community and highlight some of the amazing work being done to push forward equality and inclusion.

Each week we will interview a different change-maker, ranging from discussions with activists, to creatives to community groups and charities. These 30-minute sessions hosted by Zoe Schulz, mygwork's Client Success Manager, will explore how we can push forward LGBTQ+ equality, support vulnerable LGBTQ+ people and educate our audience on issues important to our community.

This week we will be sitting down with Olympic Swimmer, Michael Gunning.

Michael is a competitive swimmer best known for participating in the 200 metre butterfly event across the World Class Pathway. He represented Team GB in the European LEN Cup and shortly after the Rio Olympic Trials he changed alliances in order to represent his father’s heritage of Team Jamaica, where he made his first senior debut in the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. The following year he was crowned ‘Jamaica’s Sportsman of the Year 2018’ alongside the likes of Usain Bolt and Alia Atkinson in previous years. Gunning took a break from competing mid-summer in 2018 to unveil his participation in the upcoming television series The Bi Life where he spoke openly about his sexuality for the first time and became the Caribbean’s first ever openly gay athlete/swimmer. Since the series, he has his sights set on qualifying for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, whilst helping pave the pathway in both diversity and inclusion within sport.
