About this Event
These sessions will explore issues important to the LGBTQ+ community and highlight some of the amazing work being done to push forward equality and inclusion.
Each week we will interview a different change-maker, ranging from discussions with activists, to creatives to community groups and charities. These 30-minute sessions hosted by Chloe Davies, mygwork's Head of PR, will explore how we can push forward LGBTQ+ equality, support vulnerable LGBTQ+ people and educate our audience on issues important to our community.
This week we'll be sitting down to talk to Daniel Gerring and Faraj Alnasser from Refugees at Home, to discuss the importance of providing refugees with a Home.
Daniel Gerring helped set up Refugees at Home in 2015 and has been actively involved in running the charity as a trustee and advisor and with hosting refugee guests ever since. He is a senior partner at City law firm Travers Smith, where he has championed work resulting in the firm ranking 12th in the country in the most recent Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. He is also Chair of Trustees of Just Like Us - the national LGBTQ+ charity for young people and a trustee of City YMCA, London - supporting young people who would otherwise be homeless.
Faraj Alnasser will discuss his experience as a Refugee and the amazing support that Refugees at Home have given him.
