FLY and LGBT Cooking Night

We are delighted to have Chef Dave McCoart, former owner of Sage American Grill and Oyster Bar, to lead this special cooking class. Join us and enjoy a fun hands-on experience in making your own Parmesan Crust Bowl and Sushi. Learn how to make sticky rice and use a bamboo mat to roll your sushi. Dave will be bringing Chef Terry Noyes, who owns Sushi by Yoshi on Nantucket Island, and they will partner up to produce this hands-on demonstration.

  •     The event is limited to 20 spots, so please sign up to secure your spot if you are interested.
  •     The menu includes: Parmesan Crust Bowl with Mixed Field Green Salad, Orange Balsamic Dressing; and Sushi: Vegetarian Rolls and Traditional Ahi Tuna Roll.

Chef Dave McCoart leads and coordinates special culinary projects for Gateway Community College Foundation. Dave is the former owner of Sage American Grill and Oyster Bar, and he is a supporter of the C.O.O.K. series. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has worked with celebrity chefs and cooking authors. Dave was an L.B.O. partner, the former Executive Vice President of Operations for Chart House Enterprises, and Vice President of Restaurant and Brand Concepts for Paramount Pictures licensing division in Hollywood, CA. He has been active with many of New Haven’s non-profit institutions and is a current board member and past Chairman of the Connecticut Restaurant Association.
