The Edinburgh Chapter of the International UN Women Campaign '16 Days of Activism on Gender Based Violence' are delighted to welcome you to the Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 1st December 2018 to a public event discussing Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the LGBT community. GBV is a term that has been used interchangeably with the term 'Violence Against Women and Girls'. Although it is recognised that gender inequality is widespread throughout the globe and primarily affects girls and women, it is important to highlight and discuss the added challenges faced by individuals who do not conform to one particular gender identity and/or sexual orientation.

This event will bring together a range of professionals and activists to discuss the issue, including:

- Anne Marie Hicks, National Procurator Fiscal for Domestic Abuse

- Becky Kaufmann, Scottish Trans Alliance

- Representatives from Police Scotland

Join us for a thought-provoking afternoon discussion on Gender-Based Violence in the LGBT community, and be an active participant in helping to eradicate Gender Based Violence in Scotland.
