Global Diversity List

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN CLOSING DATE 12 OCTOBER

The Global Diversity List is the definitive register of those trailblazing individuals and organisations who demonstrate an unswerving commitment to the values of equality, diversity and inclusion. A Global Diversity Kite mark will be awarded to everyone on the list for use on websites, emails and social media.

The biennial List, which first appeared in 2016, is supported by The Economist and will be published in The Guardian on 12th November 2020 to coincide with the glittering European Diversity Awards, and features public figures, C-level executives, diversity professionals and employee networks.

Appearing on the List is the ultimate diversity accreditation, sending a clear message to peers, employees and to the wider world that you and, if applicable, your organisation recognise the importance of ensuring a level playing field for everyone, helping to make the world a fairer and better place. The list will be published in The Guardian on the 12 November 2020

The diversity profession has developed organically as a branch of Human Resources over the last two decades. There are no formal qualifications required to be a diversity professional. The creation of the Global Diversity List, in 2016, was to address this fundamental weakness in the profession. No universal, global, independent standard exists that can quantify the performance of organisations in the delivery of diversity. The GDL is gold standard for diversity. Organisations who wish to be seen as credible corporate players n the field of diversity should be part of the Global Diversity List. All participants in the list will get a GDL logo.

“With the inevitable economic fall out from Coronavirus, it’s more important the ever not to lose sight of our values and our commitment to a fairer world where opportunity is not limited by ethnicity, sexual orientation, sex, physical ability, age, belief or social background.

History tells us that non-core activities like D&I are often the first casualties of an economic downturn and, while appearing on the List is an achievement in itself, the real benefits lie in the positive message given to staff, prospective employees and clients that those in positions of power and influence have got their backs.

That’s why I’m asking leaders, influencers and companies to nominate today and help provide reassurance during these challenging times.”
