As part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2019, BMS Democracy, Hidayah LGBT and North Area BCU are working in collaboration to hold a Round-table discussion about the Inclusive Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) input into the school curriculum.

We are looking for participants from all demographics of our communities to discuss the impending changes in the curriculum, proposed materials and what education or lack of education about our communities feels like.

Successful participants will receive a sample of The Heartstone Odyssey by Arvan Kumar, which details the journey of Chandra; an Indian dancer .

The book describes Chandra's interactions and experiences with different communities.

Chandra witnesses racism, and prejudice against the Disabled and LGBTQI community, all of which is documented in the book.

Within the Roundtable we will be discussing the educational experiences of our North Area; Haringey and Enfield communities and the aspirations for the impending curriculum.
