What technologies will I be working with? 

• The programme is split into pathways, which determine the technologies you use. The vast majority of our technology is developed in-house. Our key languages include Java, JavaScript, Objective C, Swift and C++. You’ll have the opportunity to move between teams, work with different technologies and learn new languages. 

Is the training provided focused on specific tools and programming languages? What about training based around concepts and practices?

Do I need to know JavaScript to work in a front-end role?

Does IG use Agile development methodologies?

What is the desktop environment? 

• We use a mixture of high specification Mac and Windows laptops, and desks are equipped with twin monitors. Our Windows laptops have SSDs, because we know that short build cycles and responsive IDEs keep us in the Flow State for longer. Using laptops allows our people to work alongside their team, work on a challenge in one of our collaborative spaces or work from home.

2. Business Graduate Programme

You’ll start your time in our trading services team, speaking to our clients and developing your product knowledge. You will then have the chance to work in one of the commercial areas of our business, including sales, dealing, risk and compliance. You’ll need a good grounding in finance, economics or maths – and a passion for providing great service.

This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates with strong interpersonal skills seeking work in a fast-paced, challenging and team-focused environment. Depending on the team you join, you will spend 18 months gaining knowledge on how we:

• Develop our products and platforms

• Market to clients and prospects

• Deliver the best possible service

• Process client trades

• Manage the risks across our business

• Manage our business finances

After successfully learning how the business works you will have the opportunity to move around IG, broaden your understanding and apply your skills in other areas.

These roles are available in our London and Bengaluru offices.

We are looking for:

• Recent or upcoming graduates with an interest in and understanding of the financial markets

• Strong numerical ability and analytical skills

• Commercial awareness and a desire for communicating with people

• Multi-linguists with strong verbal and written ability is desirable
