LGBT+ Inclusion in Sport - Discovery Event

•    Are you a representative of a sports club, association or venue and would you like to learn more about how you could make your activity or space more inclusive to LGBT+ people?

•    Are you already working towards addressing barriers LGBT+ people face when accessing sports and physical activities and would you like to share good practice with others?

•    Are you a LGBT+ person and would you like to have your say on what could to make sports and physical activities?

LGBT+ people report facing many barriers to accessing sport and physical activity, which in turn shuts them people out of the benefits of participation. The aim of this session is to work together to break down barriers and create opportunities so LGBT+ people can feel more welcome and included in sports. Together we will meet and work together to identify and address internal and external barriers LGBT+ people face when accessing sports venues and teams across the region. 

The session will include:
- Stories from some young LGBT+ people and their experiences of participating in sports 
- Information about the TOTAL LGBT+ well-being project, hosted by Yorkshire Mesmac. 

TOTAL is a community project which aims to broaden LGBT+ people's access to health and wellness. Run by Yorkshire MESMAC with a focus on young gay, bi and trans men across West Yorkshire.
