Hosted by the Careers Service at Imperial College London this unique event provides a fantastic opportunity to meet with LGBT+ professionals from a range of inclusive employers. Our event aims to facilitate career discussions and share perspectives on the workplace to demonstrate that it’s possible to be comfortable and successful at work while being yourself.

The event will consist of two parts - a Formal Speed Networking Session (a bit like speed dating) and an Informal Networking Session (where you can talk to anyone in the room). LGBT+ employees from a variety of companies will be seated at tables around the venue and students will be allocated to small groups on arrival. Collectively the groups of students will move from table to table every 7-8 minutes for a series of short conversations with the company representatives. After visiting several tables we will close the formal part of the evening and move to the informal networking allowing students to engage with any of the company representatives at any of the tables.

The LGBT+ employees cover a range of roles from finance and technical to project management and marketing and represent a variety of organisations including; Accenture, Amadeus IT Services UK Limited, Amazon, Aon, AstraZeneca, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bulb, BWB Consulting, Capco, CGI, CIL Management Consultants, Civil Service Fast Stream, Commerzbank, FTI Consulting, HSBC, Airbus, Teach First, UBS, WSP.

Please Note:

•    Attendance is open to students and alumni of Imperial College London, LSE, UCL and King's College London.
•    You must use your university email address to book a ticket from the corresponding ticket type for your institution e.g. LSE tickets must be purchased from an @lse.ac.uk email account.
•    The exact location (building and room name/number) will be provided shortly before the event day to those who have secured tickets.
•    You will be required to show your university ID card at the entrance to access the event.
•    Only one ticket may be booked per person.
•    The event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry.

FAQs

Why is the event only open to students/alumni of certain universities?

LSE, UCL, King's and Imperial (LUKI) collaborate on many events throughout the year and this is one of them. Due to venue capacity our events are often ticketed and restricted.

What's the format for the night?

The event will consist of two parts - a Formal Speed Networking Session (a bit like speed dating) and an Informal Networking Session (where you can talk to anyone in the room). There's no dress code for the evening so you can come straight from lectures although you may want to consider smart/casual as you'll be meeting with potential employers.

Are there ID requirements to enter the event?

Yes. Tickets must be booked against a corresponding university email address and you will be required to show your university photo ID card to prove you are a member of one of the four universities (LSE, UCL, King's and Imperial).

Why must I use my university email address to book a ticket event?

As the event is restricted to certain universities this is one way that the organisers can check your student status at one of the participating universities. If you're an alumni of your university you'll need to use the corresponding alumni email account offered by your university.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You will need to bring either a printed ticket or the digital ticket to the event - the name on the ticket must match the name on your ID.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Imperial College London is close to South Kensington Tube Station - More details about the South Kensington campus location can be found here. The exact building and room location will be provided to those who have booked tickets close to the event date.

How is my data processed?

Your privacy is important to us. Please note that your registraton information will be held by Eventbrite under their Terms of Service and this information will be shared with Imperial College London (the event organiser) for event administration purposes in accordance with our Privacy Notice for Imperial College Events.
