Calling all who work in the Education sector or with youth.

Let me introduce myself, My name is Lou Liddle-McGhee, I am the Education and Schools Coordinator for LGBT History Project NE, a project that aims to ensure that LGBT History is ‘No longer edited, covered up, or erased’ and this includes in our schools. My day job is as a History teacher in an inner city Newcastle school, as well as Equality and Diversity lead and Professional Tutor to ITT and NQTs in the school. We have worked very hard over the last 6ish years to ensure that LGBT issues are incorporated into everyday school speak and all discrimination – including LGBT discrimination is dealt with appropriately. It would be my dream for all schools to be able to do this, which is why we run an Education training day every year around LGBT History Month.

•    LGBT issues in Art

•    Can we incorporate LGBT issues into Philosophy for children session?

•    Trans and in school, but not out…to anyone, how can we make the process easier for those we are not aware of in our day to day language?

•    An LGBT inclusive school, how can we make this happen?

•    Hate crime advocacy

•    Being an out teacher in school, how can we support the staff in supporting the students.

•    Geography and LGBT issues.
