Because we’ve made so much progress on LGBT+ rights in the UK in recent years, it can be easy for some of us to become complacent, or even wonder if we need Pride any more.
Through this event we want to shine a light on LGBT+ injustices around the world, from the explicit anti-gay crackdowns in Chechnya and Brunei to more subtle forms of oppression. This should serve to remind us of the importance of continuing to give visibility to LGBT+ issues, whether that's through Pride parades or other forms of social action.
We’ll start at 6:30 sharp with a keynote from Peter Tatchell, the human rights campaigner, followed by a panel discussion between Peter, Kieran LeBlanc (Monzo's Pride Committee Co-chair, who will moderate), Munroe Bergdorf (a social activist, broadcaster, and model), S Chelvan (a human rights barrister at No. 5 Chambers) and Meri Williams (Monzo’s Chief Technology Officer). We’ll wrap up the panel at around 8 for drinks and chat amongst ourselves.
We’d love it if you could submit questions for our panel (or anyone specific on it) through this form. We’ll aggregate these questions for our panelists so we can make best use of the time. We won’t be taking live questions.
You’re very welcome to bring along a plus one. Just make sure to order two tickets if you want to.
Keep up to date with the latest events
