LGBT+ Sport Fringe Festival Post Hill Challenge

Join Leeds LGBT+ Sport Fringe Festival and Danny Silk PT for a walk/hike through the amazing iconic Post Hill, located between Pudsey and Old Farnley. This walk through the bottom of post hill with an option to scale 'Roman Hill'. The name of the area originates from the newspaper The Yorkshire Evening Post who acquired the area and sponsored motorcycle speed and climbing events on the site from 1926. The western aspect of Post Hill, laid with a cobbled track up the hillside, was said to be the steepest hill climb in the world.

During World War 2 Post Hill was the location for Prisoner of War camp No.91, where Italian and German prisoners were held to work on farms in the surroundings. After the war the camp was used for displaced persons from Europe. In 2002 it was passed into the ownership of Leeds City Council and is being returned to its natural state.

Meeting at Wickes from 15.45. This event is a fundraiser for Action Aid UK, donations accepted on the day
