ABOUT EVENT:

For award-winning immigration attorney Luis Mancheno, the current debate over the fate of immigrants and refugees in the United States is deeply personal.

Having suffered extreme violence in his hometown of Quito, Ecuador, including being the victim of conversion therapy and a murder attempt due to his sexual orientation, Luis fled to the United States and was granted asylum in 2008. Luis now works as an immigration attorney and his story and work are featured in Episode 6 of AT&T and Maggie Vision’s docuseries, REFUGE: Finding Home.

On November 17th, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the LGBT Center, please join us for a screening of the episode and a Q&A session with Luis, head producer Josh Shelov, and a special guest. The Q&A will be followed by a reception.
