The universal and age-defying magic of listening to a shared story - REGISTER

Reading aloud is an excellent way to convey all the excitement and intricacy of a book universe even if you are a not a storyteller yourself. Join us while we read from our favoutite books by LGBT+ authors.

We will read both fiction and non-fiction works by a diverse range of authors.

We will also have a special recording by Juno Roche from her new book Trans Power.

Juno Roche is a writer and campaigner whose work around gender, sexuality and trans lives has been funded by the likes of The Paul Hamlyn Foundation and described as 'provocative, cutting edge and innovative'. She studied Fine Art and Philosophy at Brighton and English Literature at Sussex, and writes for a wide range of publications including Bitch Magazine, Dazed, Vice, Broadly, Cosmopolitan, The i, i-D, The Independent, The Tate Magazine and Refinery29. She was born a boy in Peckham and is now a woman living in the mountains of Andalusia.

This is a Lewisham LGBT Forum event for our Lewisham LGBT Book Club and is part of out celebrations for LGBT+ History Month. The theme for LGBT+ History Month 2020 is Poetry, Prose & Plays.

Lewisham's Queer Reading Group meet in Lewisham Library on the last Monday of the month and is led by the Lewisham LGBT Forum.
