This event will showcase some of the excellent work going on in museums in the region and encourage and inspire those attending to do more of this work.
The Higgins Bedford have worked with their Black History Panel on Paved with Gold: Bedford’s Windrush Generation’ exhibition and other projects with their communities including ‘Poland: in Bedford’ and the OUTing the Past Festival with the LGBT+ History Month Panel. We also have a newly established Community Engagement Panel reviewing and contributing to our current programming at The Higgins Bedford.
The day will also feature We are Colchester: Identity and intersectionality in the museum and The Thetford Teenage History Club’s most recent project.
Refreshments will be provided on arrival but please bring your own lunch. There is a cafe at the museum or in Bedford Town centre if you prefer. Please arrive from 10.15am for a 10.30am start.
