Every month we invite people from the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) community to join us for an early evening get-together to talk about and explore the Harris collections.

We currently meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

It's a really informal and friendly group. We are currently producing a trail of objects in the Harris collections which members of the group are interpreting from a personal, LGBTQ perspective. No experience of talking about art required!

We start by having a chat then we often take a look around the Harris – both in its galleries and using digital resources to explore objects in our stores. We think about objects which allow us to explore issues of gender, sexuality and identity, and how we can unearth previously hidden (or ignored) LGBTQstories. We also explore opportunities for bringing new queer perspectives to the collection.

Please note that the event does sometimes involve some walking around the galleries – nothing too strenuous!
