1969 was a year to remember. The Stonewall riots paved the way for gay rights around the world. Fifty years on why is the battle for equality still going on?

"Four policemen hurt in 'Village' raid" was the New York Times headline. It gave no clue about the real importance of what happened in the early hours of June 28, 1969, after a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village, led to a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations. They are widely considered to constitute the most important moments in the formation of the modern fight for LGBT rights. Why were they so important? What did they change? Join us to try to understand what the Stonewall Riots meant.
