Trans & Non-Binary Training Day - with Professor Christina Richards

Trans & non-binary Training Day

PROFESSOR CHRISTINA RICHARDS

BSc (Hons), MSc, DCPsych, CPsyhol, EuroPsy, FBPsS

The day aims to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to see trans and non-binary clients without having difficulty with the main stumbling blocks which are commonly encountered. These most often include such difficulties as terminology and understandings which may be derived from the popular media.

Most issues trans and non-binary people bring to counselling or therapy will be identical to those of non-trans (cisgender) people. Consequently, this day will focus on gaining knowledge of the specific issues trans and non-binary people may bring to psychotherapy, and the specific issues trans and non-binary people may have in their relationships, which would not be covered in more general psychotherapeutic training.
