University of Manchester QTIPOC Society: A Panel on Intersectionality

 A lens on the experiences of Black LGBT+ folk and what it means to navigate ourselves in today's society - including special guests!

About this Event - REGISTER 

In celebration of Black History Month, the University of Manchester's QTIPOC Society is presenting a panel discussing the intersectionality between queer sexuality and race. This panel will feature influential figures from Manchester and beyond who have greatly contributed to the QTIPOC community and have done extraordinary work for black LGBT people.

Guests include:

Chloe Cousins - the lead worker for The Proud Trust’s programme for LGBT+ young people of colour and the co-founder of the COLOURS Youth Network.

Tolu Ajayi - Talented artist, ardent activist and 1/3 of Rainbow Noir, a social and community action group in Manchester for LGBT+ people of colour.

Mel Acquah - A UCL Masters student, studying Human Rights who is passionate about activism regarding race and sexuality. Mel also strives to make people’s voices heard particularly when it comes to stories of injustice.

Shay's Corner - A black LGBTQ+ Content Creator who has a strong desire to educate the world on queerness, identity and intersectionality.

This event is open to all! This includes students from The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Salford. It also includes any member of the public that would like to attend, university student or not.

A Q&A session will follow promptly after the panel.

Food and drink provided. Tickets = FREE!
