ACCESS: VFX with a group of like-minded folks from the UK visual effects community have created Q-VFX (Queer VFX), a new, inclusive LGBTQI+ community hub where industry and aspiring talent can access information, events, mentorship and support.

At our launch event 'We Are Q-VFX' held in June during Pride Month, and as a response to feedback shared at our July Meet-Up we committed to monthly studio events, and have continued to grow our conversations at award winning visual effects studios including Framestore, The Mill, DNEG and more recently at MPC during National Inclusion Week.

As our Q-VFX family has continued to grow on a global scale with the opening of our wonderful Montreal chapter, the UK Q-VFX team are going on tour and heading to Manchester!

On the evening of Wednesday 27th November we will host our official Manchester launch event at award winning visual effects studio, The Farm.

The format of our event will run as follows:

• 6.00pm - Arrival
• 6.30pm - Q-VFX Welcome Presentation
• 7.00pm - We Are Q-VFX Manchester, Panel Discussion
• 8.00pm - Entertainment (TBC)
• 9.00pm - Drinks and Networking
• 10.00pm - Wrap up

Our panel will be made up of LGBTQI+ industry peers from the VFX, animation and games community in Manchester. Our special guests will be announced as we approach the event.

Q-VFX is growing a supportive queer community/space that travels with you wherever you go, with regular meet-ups, outreach and events, all in the spirit of ACCESS: VFX’s core mission of actively pursuing and encouraging inclusion, diversity and opportunity across our incredible visual effects, animation and games industries.

Q-VFX is run by a diverse group of people from different companies, positions and backgrounds.
