We promote diversity, equity and inclusion, creating a respectful and engaging work environment. Our frequent check-ins with managers ensure your contribution aligns with our company strategy.

What LGBTI+ inclusion means to us

Each and every one of our employees deserves the freedom to be their authentic selves and to love whomever they choose. If we fail to uphold this fundamental principle, we hinder our ability to empower our people to bring their best selves to work—those who excel and go the extra mile, adding vibrancy to our world.

In pursuit of this objective, we have developed a workshop dedicated to addressing this important topic. We've also trained a team of DE&I Agents to facilitate these workshops, launched an inclusive language guide, made necessary adjustments to our documents and systems to promote inclusivity, and initiated a pilot program for voluntary LGBTI+ data collection in select countries. We firmly believe that inclusivity isn't just a matter of moral rightness; it's a strategic imperative that makes us smarter and more successful.

True Colors – Employee Resource Group

True Colors is AkzoNobel's dedicated LGBTI+ network, committed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by LGBTI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex) individuals in the workplace. Our aim is to create a safe and inclusive working environment for all our employees. This Employee Resource Group (ERG) is open to both LGBTI+ members and allies, and it has the strong support of senior executive leaders who sponsor the group's mission, demands, and events.

True Colors has established a robust presence in several key countries, including The Netherlands, the US, the UK, Brazil, and India. These local chapters share a common vision and work closely with their representatives to ensure alignment with our global strategy. Internationally recognized events, such as Coming Out Day, are hosted virtually to maximize participation, regularly attracting over 500 employees from around the world.

In addition to our global initiatives, local chapters organize a wide range of activities, workshops, and networking events, fostering connections and engagement among our workforce.
